In my spring maintenance this year I found a front shock that was leaking as well as loose joints in my upper A-Arms. The joints are a wear item and I pushed the limit by running them for around 50,000 miles. The shocks are a warranty item with All-Pro. With new joints and coil overs from All-Pro I was ready to get the work completed.

Leaking Shock
Doing both these items at the same time made lots of sense. To replace the coil overs the A-Arm needs to be swung up out of the way so there is room to remove the shock. One more bolt and the A-Arm were also off.

Old A-Arm Joint
I had to call on a little friendly help from the folks at Redline Land Cruisers to press the old joints out and the news ones in on the A-Arms. Other than this the hardest part was lifting the tires back on. My total time on the maintenance was around 1.5 hours. There was additional time needed to take the A-Arm to the shop.

Work in Progress
With the work completed the front end does feel a little tighter and smoother and ready for another trip into the wild.
