SE Utah Spring 2011 Trip – Part 2

Our second day in Utah was mostly a drive day. I always wanted to drive the portion of the Mormon trail known as Snow Flats Road. This route climbs Cedar Mesa from Comb wash. The road is mostly a graded county road with a section called the Twist that may require high clearance. Like most Utah back country routs it should be avoided when wet.

We started the morning with blueberry pancakes. I use freeze dried berry’s and real maple syrup for a great breakfast.

The Twist

The route follows a finger of the mesa between Fish and Road canyons. The views are spectacular.  Once on the mesa we took Highway 261 south to Cigarette Springs Road.

Fallen Roof Ruin

A stop at fallen roof ruin provided an opportunity for photography and a short hike.

Tomas has lived in Colorado since age 5. Having grown up on the Western Slope of Colorado lots of time was spent in the Desert Southwest. Tomas' father introduced him to the love of 4 wheeling at an early age in the high mountains around Aspen, Colorado. While an avid Mountain Biker, Tomas and his Family enjoy adventures in the mountains and desert in the remote locations that can only be reached by 4wd. Day hikes are always a must when on the family trips. While enjoying outdoor activities he wants to share his love as a certified 4wd trainer and ski instructor. Tomas also enjoys caving and cave exploration. Tomas currently resides in Colorado Springs.
