I consider Odyssey one of the best battery manufactures. The Odyssey battery is dual use and can be used as both a deep cycle and start battery. For adventure travel and Ham radio use batteries are charge cycled much deeper and more often than normal automotive use.

Base plate placed in FJ
The Toyota FJ Cruiser has room to fit the Odyssey 2150 battery. This battery comes in a few different terminal configurations and I chose to go with a battery that has both threaded and SAE terminals to provide me more options for hooking items up to the battery.

I also have an Odyssey mount for the PC2150 which provides very secure retention for the 70+ pound battery.

The base of the mount is bolted directly to the stock battery platform with bolts through the fender. The battery is then retained with a clamp that holds both the sides and top of the battery.
Install time 1.5 hours
Cost:
- Battery $350.00
- Hold Down Kit $150.00
Here is the article for my original install in the Blue Burro.
