Marin Headlands

While spending time with family in the San Francisco Bay area LJ and I took a drive out to the Marin Headlands. The drive leaves Highway 1 near the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge.

LJ with The Golden Gate

Our first stop was a great view point of the Golden Gate and San Francisco.  Every time I see this view I still am awed bay it.

Our FJ Cruiser at the Headlands

We then drove out to the point where the lighthouse is to check out the old WW II bunkers. It was a great opportunity to talk with LJ about the history of the site and world war II. We took a walk up to the old observation site that is above the light house.

The Pacific

On our way back out we stopped at the Marine Mammal Center. The center is involved in the recovery of small ocean mammals like Seals and Sea Lions.

Tomas has lived in Colorado since age 5. Having grown up on the Western Slope of Colorado lots of time was spent in the Desert Southwest. Tomas' father introduced him to the love of 4 wheeling at an early age in the high mountains around Aspen, Colorado. While an avid Mountain Biker, Tomas and his Family enjoy adventures in the mountains and desert in the remote locations that can only be reached by 4wd. Day hikes are always a must when on the family trips. While enjoying outdoor activities he wants to share his love as a certified 4wd trainer and ski instructor. Tomas also enjoys caving and cave exploration. Tomas currently resides in Colorado Springs.
